Maintenance and reliability of Tata Magic CNG 8 Seater?

Any vehicle, particularly one that’s commonly used for commercial purposes, must have the reliability and maintenance costs in mind. As a workhorse vehicle, the Tata Magic CNG 8 Seater should also be able to withstand heavy use and, in some cases, face harsh conditions. Its long term durability, the frequency of repairs required and the availability of spare parts are the subject of much user debate. Tata also discusses how well its service network supports this model — especially in smaller towns and rural areas. Some even use it for years with minimal downtime, while other use it at all, have complaints. The addition of the CNG variant rolls this debate further, with concerns about the life of the CNG kit and its effect on the overall vehicle reliability.

I’ve had mine for 3 years now and I run a small tour business. Barely any issues except routine maintenance.

The CNG kit is a bit finicky. Some parts had to be replaced within the first year. Not cool, Tata!

It's built like a tank! Rural roads have given mine a beating, but it still runs smooth. Just change the oil regularly.

Other commercial vehicles are expensive to maintain compared to this. They are also easily available spare parts.

If you’re overloading it, the suspension needs a lot of work. Learned that the hard way.

Tata service centres have had mixed experiences for me. There are some that are great, and others that aren’t so great. Bit of a gamble.

The electricals can be a bit of pain, but the engine is solid. Make sure you’ve got a good mechanic on speed dial!
