Mahindra XEV 9e software updates: what should owners verify before escalating?
Mahindra says software features introduced on the BE 6 SPORTEQ will reach existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S customers in phases from January 2027, with the feature set varying by model and variant. Official guidance also describes Digital Car Key setup. Recent owner reports show uncertainty about older builds and feature parity, not proof of a model-wide defect.
Build an eligibility record
| Check | Record | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Software | Version or build shown in the vehicle and date checked. | Separates an old build from a feature not yet eligible. |
| Vehicle | Model, variant, battery, manufacturing month and VIN-linked service record. | Availability can vary by model and variant. |
| Feature source | Current manual, official Digital Car Key guide or release note. | Another variant or video is not entitlement. |
| Compatibility | Phone, operating system, wallet or app version and NFC-card status. | Digital-key setup depends on compatible devices. |
| Workshop | Job card, diagnostic result, update attempt and escalation reference. | Creates a traceable support record. |
| Timing | Current documented feature versus January 2027 phased feature. | Keeps present and future features separate. |
Which XEV 9e variant and version are involved, which feature is missing, and what official document lists it for that vehicle? Did an OTA check, compatibility check or written escalation resolve it?
