Is Yamaha FZ V3 worth buying in 2025 or it has become old?

The Yamaha FZ V3 has been a favorite in the Indian motorcycle market since its release. But as we approach 2025, there’s a debate over whether this model still holds up to newer competition. Reliable and comfortable ergonomics are some of the qualities some riders sing its praise while others say it lacks many modern features and performance. Often there is discussion on the bike’s design and that of the older versions of the bike seems to be preferred by some. Such as build quality, long term reliability and availability of aftermarket parts also comes into play. Furthermore, we look at how well the FZ V3 adheres to current emission norms and if Yamaha might be preparing for a big update or replacement soon.

Absolutely still worth it. The FZ V3 is a well tested platform that is as reliable as hell. Why make things complicated with fancy electronics that will just break?

It's seriously outdated now, no way. It’s been left in the dust feature wise and performance wise by the competition. These days you can get so much more bike for your money.

It depends on what you are after. The FZ V3 is still solid if you just want something reliable, comfortable and simple for a commuter that will run forever. If you want thrills, look elsewhere.

I'd say it's still relevant. It’s been updated regularly by Yamaha and the latest version has decent features for the price. And that build quality is just too hard to beat.

The FZ V3 is the Nokia 3310 of bikes – reliable, but seriously stuck in the past. Unless you’re on a really tight budget in 2025, there are much better options.

It's still a great choice for new riders. It’s easy to handle, forgiving, and cheap to maintain. You know, not everyone needs the latest and greatest.

I would not buy one new in 2025, but I love mine. It's all about the used market, you can get a well maintained FZ V3 for a steal that will run forever.

In some ways it’s outdated, but that’s part of its charm. There are no riding modes, no fancy TFT display, just pure, simple biking. Sometimes less is more.
