Is Yamaha Fazer8 good for beginners?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
The 779cc inline four of the Yamaha Fazer8 puts it in an interesting space between middleweight and liter bikes. It's a good power output, and ergonomics for new and experienced riders. But, there’s still a dispute whether it’s suitable for beginners. On the one hand, some say that it is manageable power and forgiving because of the upright riding position, while others say it is too much bike for someone just starting out. It’s not just about the vehicle they’re on, but also the rider’s physical size, maturity, and previous experience (even with cars). Other starter bikes are mentioned, as well as the dangers of beginning on a larger displacement machine.

If you really want it, I’d say go for it. Just don't try to show off the power, just respect it. If done right, the Fazer8 can be a great learning platform.

It's not ideal, but it's possible. Good riding course, lots of practice in empty lots, and always wear full gear. If you’re smart about it, you can make it work.

Bad idea. You’ll even learn much faster on a smaller, lighter bike even if you can handle it. Wait until you have a little mileage on the Fazer8.

If you're careful I think it's okay. It’s pretty forgiving in the upright position and smooth power delivery.

No way, man. Start by getting some experience on a smaller bike first in case you don’t like it. It has way too much power for someone just now learning the basics.

It depends on the person. It might work if you’re older, more mature, and you have good self control. For most newbies, it’s probably too much.

I began on a Fazer8 and made out just fine. If you take it easy at first and you’re responsible, it’s totally doable.

Absolutely not. That's way too powerful for someone at this level. Start small, start with something like a 300 or 500 cc bike.
