Is the Yamaha FZS 250 still relevant in 2025?

India motorcycle market is growing at a fast speed and many riders are wondering if Yamaha FZS 250 is strong enough to compete with the newer motorcycles. Bike performance, features, and value proposition are what this question sparks a debate on in the current landscape. It’s else often compared to other popular models in the 250cc segment, the pros and cons spoken. They say it is reliable and comfortable, and therefore a timeless choice; others think it is already lagging in terms of technology and power. Yamaha’s reputation, the evolution of the bike’s design, and whether it still fits the bill of today’s riders — those who need a bike to commute in the city, but occasionally venture out on the highway.

Absolutely! It’s that reliable friend who’s always there for you. Yeah, it might not have all the fancy bells and whistles the newer bikes have, but it has that classic Yamaha reliability that’s so hard to beat.

No Nah, I think it's time for Yamaha to buck up. The FZS 250 is a bit dated for a 250cc machine, by some newer 250cc machines that are available today. It's not good, it's not bad, it's not exciting.

Having ridden the FZS 250 for the past year, I’d still say its quite relevant. For the daily commute it's comfortable and it doesn't break a sweat on weekend trips. The maintenance costs are also surprisingly low, plus.

It depends on what you’re looking for, I think. If top end performance and the latest tech is what you seek, then maybe you should look elsewhere. If you want a reliable, no nonsense bike that’ll last for years though, then the FZS 250 is still a solid choice.

The FZS 250 is starting to show its age, let’s be real. If they want to compete, Yamaha needs to give it a serious update. Some rivals feel a bit more powerful than the engine.

I would say it is more relevant than ever. With the fuel prices on the rise, the FZS 250’s fuel efficiency is a big plus. It’s not the fastest, but it’s practical and economical.

I'm a long time Yamaha fan and I think the FZS 250 still has its place. This is a good learners bike and is just what you want if you don't need all the fancy features. You know sometimes simple is better?
