Is the ultimate budget living hack to convert a Mahindra Supro Van into a tiny home?
Housing costs are skyrocketing and more people are living a minimalist lifestyle, so the idea of converting vehicles into livable spaces has become a trend. With a boxy shape and roomy interior, the Mahindra Supro Van could be turned into a cute tiny house on wheels. It can be very affordable compared to larger vans or RV’s. Is it actually practical as a living space though? Can a vehicle this small fit all the necessities of daily life? Issues such as insulation, plumbing and electricity, what about those? And let’s not forget the legal bits: Where can you actually park and live in a converted van? This is either a revolutionary solution to the housing crisis or a well intentioned, but impractical, dream.
This is actually brilliant for minimalists! With a bit of clever design, you could totally make a Supro into a nice little home.
Are you crazy? That thing hardly has enough space to stretch out in. Within a week you'd go stir crazy.
I've seen people convert tiny little vehicles into campers. With a bit of creativity, a Supro could totally be used as a weekend getaway vehicle or for short term living.
It’s tempting to go for the low cost, but you’d probably spend a ton on the conversion to make it livable. Maybe it might be better to begin with a larger van.
It just could be a game changer for students or young professionals in an expensive city. Save a fortune on rent, park it in a safe spot, and join a gym for showers.
It was the real challenge of finding places to legally park overnight. Now, most cities have pretty strict laws about living in vehicles.
I'd be worried about safety. The Supro isn’t exactly tank built and living in it full time could be dangerous if you have an accident.
