Is the Tata Magic CNG 8 Seater a good family vehicle?

Specifically designed for commercial use, the Tata Magic CNG 8 Seater has become an eye raiser among the family vehicle enthusiasts. Some families, especially larger ones or those with extended family living together, see it as a cost-effective solution for group outings and daily commutes. It is often said to have a spacious interior and economical CNG option. But critics say it has none of the comfort features or safety standards you would expect of a modern family car. Social perceptions are also discussed – Is it socially acceptable to use a commercial style vehicle for family purposes in different parts of India? Its utilitarian design leads to questions about whether the vehicle has any appeal for personal use, especially in urban areas where image is sometimes important in selecting a vehicle.

Perfect for my joint family! We all fit comfortably for our weekend trips to the countryside.

There is no way I would use this as a family car. It’s too basic, too old, and has no modern safety features. My kids deserve better.

For occasional use, such as picnics or family functions, it’s great. But as a daily driver? Nah, too cumbersome.

It’s our second family car. It's not fancy, but it's useful when we want to move a lot of people or a lot of stuff.

It's embarrassing to drop the kids off at school in this, but the fuel savings are nice. Looks too commercial.

We had other long drives in it and it’s actually quite comfortable. We took out the last row and put cushions on them. Works great!

Base models lack AC and this is a deal breaker for family use. Indian summers are brutal.
