Is the Stargazer's unique design a hit to resale value worth?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
But unconventional vehicle designs can be tough in the used car market, if they do not appeal to many second hand buyers. On the one hand, the Stargazer's futuristic styling is sure to grab attention, but it also makes me wonder how it will look in a few years, and whether that will have an effect on resale value. This is a big consideration for most buyers, particularly those who change vehicles every couple of years. It’s a big decision point about the tradeoff between having a standout vehicle now versus potentially lower resale value later. On the other hand, as being the first generation of this model, there potentially would be uneasy regarding the long term reliability and availability of parts which can then dilute future value. How do potential buyers balance the excitement of owning a uniquely designed vehicle, with more practical financial considerations?

If you really love the design, it’s worth it. Cars depreciate anyways why not enjoy what you’re driving. You don't have all the time in the world to drive a boring car!

That’s exactly why it might have value because of the unique design. Amidst a lot of MPVs that are carbon copies of each other, the Stargazer does stand out. In the used market that uniqueness could be appealing.

It depends, I think, on how long you intend to keep it. If you’re in it for the long haul, go for it. Maybe stick to something more conventional if you switch cars every 3-4 years.

Not worth it for me. I'd rather have something practical, and easy to sell when I want to upgrade. The Stargazer is like it's trying too hard.

But it's a gamble and could pay out. If it does become iconic, it might actually be a better value than boring MPVs. Consider how well aged unique cars such as the original Mini or VW Beetle.

No way. Family cars need to have resale value. I'd rather do a more conventional design that will be easier to sell later.

Absolutely worth it! Investments they are, but the cars are more than that. The trade off to something unique every day is in your driving pleasure, and that's worth it for my needs.
