Is the software and infotainment system on the Kia EV9 a deal breaker?

One of the main highlights praised about the Kia EV9 includes a rather spacious interior, comfortable ride and great range. But owners have been frustrated with the vehicle’s software and infotainment system. Others say it lags, has too many glitches and an interface that is less intuitive than competitors such as Tesla. Resposiveness of the infotainment system and its features in particular are of paramount importance for overall driving experience, particularly for persons of technology. The EV9’s premium price tag means expectations for revolutionary technology are high. It's a question of whether Kia's software capabilities match the vehicle's otherwise high quality build and features. Considering how much these technological aspects actually weigh in a potential buyer’s considerations, that is if they are coming from a vehicle with a more sleekly brushed infotainment system, can be helpful in its future price.

The software honestly isn't that great, but I can live with that. But it's the other features of the car that more than make up for it. Also, I hope Kia will do it better with updates.

As an EV owner coming from a Tesla, the EV9’s infotainment system feels like a huge step back. It's frustratingly slow, it's buggy. Everything else about the car I love, but the tech, that's definitely the Achilles' heel.

People are being too harsh, I think. It may not be as slick as Tesla's system, but it works. Let’s face it, how much time do you spend messing with the infotainment while driving?

Definitely concerning at this price point, the software. If Kia wants to play in the premium EV market, they need to step up their game. Laggy touchscreens are a thing of the past, it's 2025.

In fact, I prefer Kia's system to some overly complicated setups that I've seen in other luxury cars. It's easy and has everything I need. Or maybe I’m just not as picky as some people.
