Is the Scorpio Classic's infotainment system a deal breaker?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
It's been a bone of contention among owners and reviewers that the Mahindra Scorpio Classic comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It’s enough for basic needs, say some, while others complain that it’s not very responsive and lacks features like Android Auto or Apple CarPlay that come standard in many modern cars. Instead, the system seems to be an aftermarket Android tablet. It has raised questions on whether Mahindra traded out on this vital feature given the car’s price point. In many instances the infotainment system can make or break the daily driving experience and the overall customer satisfaction with the car. Is this old tech a deal breaker, or something buyers can get past when there are so many other good things about the Scorpio Classic?

I'm torn on this. Yeah, it’s disappointing, on one hand. On the other, the Scorpio Classic is all about that old school charm. Is that basic infotainment system part of that, perhaps? But a software update with Android Auto wouldn’t hurt.

I know it's not the top of the line, but c'mon, how many of us use all those fancy features in other cars? Rugged, practical is the Scorpio. If you want a rolling smartphone, go buy something else.

Well, I think it really depends on what you are using the Scorpio for. However, if that’s mainly for off roading or work purposes, the basic infotainment is fine. For daily commuters or families, it's a big miss. This aspect should have been put more effort by Mahindra.

Are you kidding? That infotainment system is a joke for the price they are charging. No Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in 2024? They’re like they’re stuck in the past. This half baked attempt at modern tech, I’d rather have a basic radio.

I really don't care if it's a deal breaker for me. It’s not the fanciest system out there by any means, but it works. I can still mirror my screen and play my music and use GPS. And I spend more time actually driving than I do fiddling with the screen.
