Royal Enfield has a good track record of re packaging their existing model with minor changes and new names. The motorcycle enthusiasts have therefore speculated whether the Roadster 350 is a new model or just a marketing gimmick. There are those that argue that differences in ergonomics, suspension setup, and design elements make it a unique offering, and those that say it’s just the same bike with a few cosmetic changes. It also asks how much innovation is going on in the motorcycle industry, and if manufacturers are doing enough to warrant new model releases. No, it isn't just a Classic 350 in disguise. The riding position of the Roadster, and hence its ergonomics, is more upright than the LC 18. It’s like comparing apples and slightly different apples.

It’s totally a repackaged Classic 350, come on. Same retro vibes, same engine. RE is milking their success formula.

I'd say it is somewhere in between. It shares components, but the riding experience is different enough to merit it as a separate model, yeah.

As a Classic 350 owner, I know, the Roadster feels quite different on the road. It’s a more nimble, city friendly alternative.

It’s a smart play by RE let’s be real. So why reinvent the wheel when you can just tweak an already successful platform? It’s not groundbreaking, but it doesn’t have to be.

Both I test rode, and the Roadster certainly has its own character. The Classic's cooler, more easygoing cousin.

RE being a bit lazy with this, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Classic formula works, if you can vary it a bit then that's not bad.
