Is the Royal Enfield Classic 500 worth a buy in 2025?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
A few years back the Classic 500 was discontinued, but it still has its fanbase. There’s a faction that swears by its raw power and classic thumper feel, while other riders prefer the more modern feel of the smoother 350cc models. Potential buyers are torn between their nostalgia and practicality with used 500s still available in the market. There’s the complaint about the vibrations at higher speeds, but it’s hard to find torque and character like the 500cc engine. A discontinued model also deals with maintenance and parts availability. Is the Classic 500 the Royal Enfield hidden gem that enthusiasts love, or should one stick with the newer, more refined stuff?

Honestly, I'd pass. It’s old real quick and only going to get worse for parts. All around bikes, the new RE models are just better.

I've had my 500 for years and I still love it. It’s not perfect, but the character and the torque make up for it. You can’t beat that classic look, plus.

That depends on what you’re looking for. The 500 is great if you want a weekend toy for short rides and don’t mind tinkering. Newer models make more sense for daily use, however.

No way, man. They are so much smoother and easier to live with than the new 350s. Why bother with an old, discontinued model when you can have a new bike with newer tech?

Absolutely! The newer models just don’t have the charm the Classic 500 has. It sure vibrates like crazy, but that’s the experience. You ride a piece of history.
