Is the Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500 worth the extra buck over other RE models?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views7 answers
Being limited to 500 units, and with its own unique styling, the Bullet Trials 500 commands a premium over standard Royal Enfield models. It’s this price difference that has caused some debate among motorcycle enthusiasts as to whether the motorcycle’s distinctive features and rarity make it worth the extra cost. While some think the higher price tag is justified by scrambler inspired modifications and collector value, others believe performance and technology haven’t changed much from less expensive RE models. It's also a conversation about the value of exclusivity in the world of motorcycles and if the Trials 500's combination of vintage looks and modern manufacturing actually does something unique enough to justify its price.

I believe that people miss the point. It's a factory built ode to RE's trial bike history. That’s cool, and for some folks, that’s worth paying extra for.

The price is ridiculous, at least on the higher end. For less, you could buy a standard Bullet and modify it yourself, and probably come up with a more capable bike.

I'd say it's overpriced for what it is, but it's not as if it's not worth it to the right buyer. Motorcycles are emotional purchases and if the Trials 500 does speak to you it is worth the premium.

That depends on what you’re after. If you want bang for buck performance then no. If you like to be different and stand out, then it might be worth it to you.

This makes the price fair. These will be collector's items in a few years. It’s as much a bike as an investment.

If you like the special styling and limited production, I think it’s worth it. It’s not just about performance, it’s about owning something special.

Absolutely not. It's just a Bullet tarted up with a few bits of off road thrown on. The looks are extra, not the performance.
