Is the Royal Enfield Bullet 350X the hype?

Royal Enfield fans have been going gaga over the Bullet 350X for its old school looks and thumping engine. On top of that, however, has been criticism about its reliability and the performance of the bike relative to more modern versions. It’s either the perfect blend of retro style and modern engineering, or an overpriced, outdated machine with nostalgia on its back. However, the debate between die hard RE enthusiasts and those who prefer Japanese or European bikes often get heated. Of course, in discussion of whether or not the 350X can make good on its reputation and price tag, factors such as build quality, maintenance cost, and real world fuel economy enter into play. For many, the Bullet is more than the bike, it is the lifestyle, it is the status symbol. But does the riding experience make up for choosing it over other options in the market?

Absolutely worth it! The Bullet 350X is not just a bike, it’s an experience. There's nothing that compares to that classic thump and retro styling of any modern bike. Yeah, it isn't the fastest or most advanced, but that's not the point. It’s about how you feel pushing the bike, it’s about the journey.

Overrated, if you ask me. They will get you much more reliable and better performing bikes for the same price. The vibrations are bad, and it costs an arm and a leg to maintain. It's just simply not practical for day to day use.

It all depends on what you’re looking for. If you're after a bike with character, and if you don't mind a few quirks, the Bullet is great. If performance and hassle free ownership is what you are after, there are better options out there.

The 350X is an improvement over older Bullets. It's refined and more reliable whilst retaining that classic charm. It's a good balance of old and new, just what you want if you want to be in the RE game without all the headaches.

If you like the whole Royal Enfield culture, I'd say it's worth it. It is amazing the community and the rides. It’s pretty average as a standalone bike, though. You’re paying for the brand and the nostalgia more than anything else.
