Is the Royal Enfield Bobber 838 overhyped?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Ever since the concept of the Bobber 838 was unveiled at EICMA 2018, it has been causing a lot of buzz. Its striking design, inspired by the 1938 KX and Royal Enfield's first modern V-twin engine, is certainly attracting attention. The concept has been a long time coming, but some are wondering if it's worth the wait. Will it perform and ride as it looks? But how will this more premium offering fare in a market where Royal Enfield is known for its affordable classics? Then there's the question of how it will compete with established players in the bobber and cruiser segments. So, is the Bobber 838 really revolutionary or just a pretty face? Let’s dive in.

I'm worried about reliability, but excited. New models don’t have the best track record for RE.

Price will make or break it. It will be a home run if they can keep it competitive.

The hype is real! Could this be the bike that gets RE on the map as a serious player?

RE is taking a bold move here, but I think they are biting off more than they can chew. I say stick to what you're good at.

I’ll reserve judgment until I can actually ride one, but the design is killer. Just because something works conceptually doesn’t mean it’ll work in production.

Oh, it's just another overpriced retro bike. At this point, RE is milking the nostalgia cow dry.

Absolutely worth it! RE’s game changer is the 838cc V-twin. They have finally decided to play in the big leagues, it seems.
