Since launch, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 has been creating waves in the Indian motorcycle market. It has been positioned as a game changer in the 160cc segment with aggressive styling, a new engine and a feature packed offering. But some riders say it's just another incremental update to the long running Pulsar series. The debate on whether it really has enough improvements over its predecessors, or competitors, to deserve all the hype that comes with it. In this discussion, we will be looking into factors, such as how it performs in real world conditions, its long term reliability and its value for money in comparison to other options that are available in the market. Is the N160 the marketing buzz or is it too much hype?

I honestly believe the hype is warranted. The Pulsar N160 isn't just another Pulsar, it's a complete overhaul. The older Pulsars had a rougher engine but this new one is buttery smooth and the power delivery is just right for city riding. Plus, the dual channel ABS on the higher variant is a game changer for safety in this segment.

Nah, it's overhyped. Yes, it’s an upgrade over the old Pulsars, but is it so much better than the Apache RTR 160 4V or the Honda X-Blade? I don't think so. Bajaj knows only how to market.

I have owned the old Pulsar 150 and now the N160, being someone who has owned both, it is a massive upgrade. The refinement level is night and day. All I'll say is that I agree, it's not revolutionary, but it's a real solid evolution of the Pulsar line.

The tech deserves the hype, but not the looks. I can't get over how generic the design is, the engine and features are great. Bajaj seems to have played it too safe.

I believe people are missing the point. The N160 doesn't want to be revolutionary; it just wants to give you a well rounded package for a good price. And in that, it succeeds. It's hyped because it’s just right for many riders.
