Is the Pulsar N160 2 Channel ABS suitable for long distance touring?

Although designed as a sporty commuter, many riders see the Pulsar N160 as a machine capable of longer trips. Factors that impact touring capability are engine performance and efficiency, fuel efficiency, seat comfort, posture, and luggage capacity. With a 160cc engine, the N160 leaves us wondering if it will be able to keep up with the highway speeds for any significant amount of time. Furthermore, ergonomics of the bike as well as other features like wind protection are also important factors to remember when looking at the touring suitability of the bike. A few riders will argue that smaller displacement bikes such as the N160 can be ideal for budget touring, whereas others will claim that a larger engine is required for a comfortable long distance. The debate also raises questions about the bike's reliability — and the availability of service centers to provide peace of mind on long trips.

My N160 did a 600km round trip like a champ. The vehicle is very comfortable, mileage is good and ABS is boon on highways.

For weekend getaways, it’s fine, but for serious touring you’d want something with more displacement. The engine feels stressed at highway speeds.

With some minor changes such as a taller windscreen and better padding on the seat, it can actually be a decent tourer. Though the stock setup is more city oriented.

I have mine for regular 200-300km rides. It's not a dedicated tourer but is sufficiently versatile to be used as both city and highway duty.

Touring is a bummer because of the lack of luggage options. If you want to carry stuff you'll have to invest in aftermarket solutions.

It's surprisingly good for touring! Long rides are a joy because of the upright riding position and smooth power delivery. You won’t be breaking any speed records, though.

I think it’s perfect for cruising along back roads and scenic routes. If you’re looking for something bigger for high speed highway touring, you might want to look elsewhere.
