Is the Pulsar 125 Neon a good beginners first bike?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
As a beginner, choosing the right motorcycle can make all the difference in building those all–important confidence and riding skills safely. Being an entry level bike in the Pulsar lineup, the Pulsar 125 Neon often finds its way in the discussion of suitable starter bikes. There are different opinions about this topic, some would say that this power is manageable and the controls are familiar and some would say that the sportier nature of this vehicle might be too much for absolute novices. These are often debated as to the bike's weight, power delivery and all the rest of it. Additionally, haven’t forgotten about the maintenance requirement and forgiving nature of the bike as far as new riders and they make mistakes. We also look at how the Pulsar brand's sportier image fits the bill for those just starting out with their motorcycling journey.

I began with a Pulsar 125 Neon and then followed this with a 200NS. It was a perfect progression. The 125 taught me the basics, but didn’t overwhelm me. Highly recommend for newbies!

It depends on the beginner. It's great if you're young or eager. If you’re a bit older or more cautious, you might not want to start out so sporty.

I believe it’s ideal for beginners. It’s comfortable in an upright riding position, and yet, the power is manageable. And it looks cool on top of that, which is a nice plus when you're just starting out!

If you're an MSF instructor, it's a good choice. Easy enough to manage, yet still has enough power to grow with you as skills develop.

I learned on this bike and I loved it. It’s forgiving if you make mistakes and the controls are intuitive. It’s great for building confidence before tackling bigger bikes.

It’s a really good first bike but I would probably suggest something like Honda CB Shine to absolute beginners. Newbies may find the Pulsar a bit 'jumpy'.

I began on a Pulsar 125 Neon and I feel it’s good for those first starting out. Just enough power to be fun, but not so much that it is scary. It’s also easy to handle in traffic.
