Is the premium of the BE 6 Pack Three worth the cost over lower variants?

The top end variant of the Mahindra BE 6 Pack Three is priced at ?26.9 lakh ex-showroom. That puts it up against some established players in the EV market. With a 79 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 682 km range, 282 bhp power output, advanced driver assistance systems, top notch interiors with a panoramic sunroof and fast charging, the Pack Three is loaded to the gills with features. It’s much pricier than the base Pack One variant. This brings to question value proposition for buyers: are the extra features and a bigger battery worth the extra cash, or would a lower variant provide better bang for buck? The attractiveness of the mid range Pack Two variant is also affected by the pricing strategy.

I honestly think most buyers are going to find the Pack Three to be overkill. You probably will get 80% of the features for the base variant at a much more attractive price. If you don’t absolutely need the 682 km range, the lower variants appear to be better value.

The Pack Three is totally worth it if you can afford, disagree. The more impressive part is that 79 kWh battery, which completely eliminates range anxiety, and the premium features like ADAS and the panoramic sunroof really make the car feel like a premium product. You get what you pay for.

It's a tough call. Some of the features of the Pack Three are compelling, but the price jump is big. It really depends on how you use it, if you do a lot of long trips and want the latest tech by all means go for it. Otherwise, the lower variants can be used.

I’m actually more interested in the Pack Two. It's going to be somewhere in between features and price, I imagine. The Pack Three appears to be for early adopters who are looking for the best of everything.

Let’s be real, most people buying an EV in this price range, want the top variant, for the bragging rights. It will sell well because it’s the ‘best’ one, and it doesn’t matter if it’s actually worth it.
