Is the Nissan Sunny reputation really for nothing?
In places like Dubai, the Nissan Sunny seems to have a pretty negative reputation. Slow drivers, left lane hoggers and poor design are the things people complain about. Is this criticism fair though, or is it just a case of stereotyping? Now let’s jump into the pros and cons of the Sunny and see if it really deserves all the hate it gets. Perhaps we’re missing some hidden gems in this budget friendly sedan. Maybe there are actually good reasons it’s become the poster child for bad driving experiences. What do you think of Sunny, the misunderstood budget hero or rightfully maligned road nuisance?
The Sunny isn’t winning any beauty contests, but it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. It's a reliable, good sized car and does the job. It’s not exciting, sure, but not everyone needs or wants a sports car.
Nah, the hate is justified. A boring car that brings boring drivers. It's the design of the 90s and painfully slow. In the same price range, there are way better options.
I don't think the car is to blame for bad drivers. Any car can be driven poorly. For an affordable, fuel efficient sedan, the Sunny is actually pretty decent.
It's not the car itself that's the problem, it's the rental companies that dump the cars into the market. Obviously you're going to see a lot of inexperienced drivers in Sunnys when the go to rental car.
I’ve driven one and genuinely, it’s not that bad. It’s also comfortable for long drives and the backseat space is impressive. After all, it’s not meant to be a performance car and that’s ok.
