Is the Mahindra BE 6e’s futuristic design a hit or miss?
The BE 6e's design is certainly striking, with sharp angles, distinctive LED lighting and coupe like styling. That’s a much more concept car inspired look compared with the standard SUV styling. It's been called refreshingly modern and forward thinking by some while others think it's just too radical for the mainstream. In the interior, the wraparound screens and minimalist approach only continue. The questions that arise from this design direction are if Mahindra is taking a risk by pushing the boundaries so far, or if this is precisely what the Indian EV market needs to stand out from the crowd. Will the BE 6e's looks grow old in a few years or will it seem dated? Is this design language a successful way to communicate the vehicle's electric powertrain and high tech attributes, or is it style without substance?
I love it! We're about due for something that doesn't look like every other SUV on the road. Its sharp lines and LED lights work to give it a proper sci fi vibe.
It's way too much for me. I prefer a more classic look. Everything here feels like it's trying a little too hard to be 'the future,' and will look dated really fast.
I'm getting used to that exterior, but that interior is incredible. It's like being a spaceship cockpit!
I'm torn. It is definitely unique, but I worry it will be impractical. They could easily chip and those sharp angles might be a pain to keep clean.
As a design student, I love it. This is really pushing boundaries here, and that’s what we need to do to move car design forward.
And that's a little polarizing, and that might be good for Mahindra. It will catch people’s eye and make them talk about the brand.
I just can't (get past) those headlights. They squint at me like they do.
