Is the KTM 990 Adventure too much bike for a beginner?

The KTM 990 Adventure is famous for its powerful engine, tall seat height, and off-road capabilities, and many wonder if it is a good choice for the novice adventure riders. Its raw power and lack of modern rider aids make it too hard for newbies to ADV riding, others say. Some say that riding on a bike such as the 990 gives new riders a chance to grow into its capabilities. Less experienced riders will also consider the weight and size of the bike, especially on off-road sections and slow-speed maneuvers. Plus, there’s the question of whether you should teach beginners on a smaller, more manageable bike and move up later or whether the 990’s versatility makes it a good long-term bike that will evolve as their skills develop.

Absolutely not! I began on a 990, and it taught me how to ride better. All you have to do is respect the power and learn bit by bit.
