Is the Hyundai Stargazer's unique design a success or failure?
Stargazer's futuristic styling has caused a firestorm among car enthusiasts. There are those who praise its bold avant garde and compare it to the vehicles from the movie sci fi. Some consider it too unconventional and even ugly. The metal front grille and headlight design, in particular, have been polarizing. It breaks with the MPV aesthetic in terms of boxy shape and angular lines. Hyundai’s choice of design in this MPV raises questions about the company’s strategy in the competitive MPV market. Are they attempting to differentiate themselves at the expense of alienating more conservative customers? Is it or is this a clever ploy to attract the younger, more design savvy consumers?
It's definitely a hit for me! It's finally an MPV that doesn't appear to be a boring bread box on wheels. I feel like I am driving a spaceship from Star Trek.
Miss, big time. It appears that someone attempted to iron a normal car, and got half way through. I give Hyundai credit for trying something different but this is just too out there for me.
I'm torn. It’s jarring at first, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. You don’t get it at first, but then you get it. It’s like modern art.
Hit for sure! It is nice to see a car company taking risks. The Stargazer sticks out among a sea of lookalike MPVs. And it'll probably age better than more conservative designs.
Massive miss. It’s trying to be too futuristic and just looks like a cheap knockoff concept car. I would be embarrassed if I drove this around town.
I think it's a hit, it just isn't for everyone. Perfect for young families wanting something cool and different. It’s the cool dad of MPVs.
It's growing on me. Initially I thought it was hideous, but now I sort of like its quirkiness. Basically the pug of cars, so ugly it's cute.
