Is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios a better buy than safer alternatives?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views7 answers
The Grand i10 Nios has become popular for its smooth drive, peppy engine, and feature rich interior. But it’s 2 star GNCAP safety rating is worrying, considering its competitors, such as the Tata Tiago with a 4 star rating. For buyers, who consider comfort as the topmost priority they tend to face this dilemma often. There are those who feel that the Nios' reliability and Hyundai's after sales service trump safety concerns and others who feel that it is not worth compromising on safety. Even the debate continues for whether the safety features like 6 airbags and ESC in higher variants, make up for the structural integrity of the car. Also, the car’s safety aspects depend on its performance on highways than city driving.

I'd pick the Nios any day. Hyundai's after sales service is a lifesaver and that peace of mind is worth more than a star rating.

Cars are getting safer overall, look. The Nios might not be a tank, but it's not a deathtrap. It's all about how you drive.

Split decision for me. The Nios is great, but I don’t like that safety rating. Or maybe wait for the next gen model?

I'd say it's worth it. The Nios is old news, 2 star rating, but it's improved a lot. It's also way more fun to drive than its competitors.

It depends on your usage. The Nios is perfect for city driving. If you’ve got a lot of highway trips, then maybe something a bit more sturdy.

No way, man. The highest priority should be on safety. Instead go for a Tiago or Altroz. Better to be safe than sorry.

Absolutely! The Nios is a great general purpose architecture. It doesn't speak for itself in safety ratings, but it's got good features and Hyundai's reliability is top notch.
