Is the Honda RC213V-S really worth its enormous price?
The price of the street-legal version of Marc Marquez's MotoGP bike, the Honda RC213V-S, is jaw-dropping, coming in at around $184,000. That makes it a class of its own and prices it out of reach of even the most premium production superbikes. It has amazing technology and performance that it gets straight off the back of MotoGP, but it comes with some restrictions for road use. The bike is restricted in power to meet street-legal requirements, and some of the more advanced features that you get on the full race bike—the seamless gearbox, pneumatic valves, etc.—aren't there. All things considered, there’s a lot of debate among motorcycle enthusiasts about whether the RC213V-S is worth its steep price tag or whether it’s more of a collector’s piece than a practical high-performance machine.
Absolutely worth it! Basically, you’re getting a MotoGP bike with lights. The price alone is justified by engineering and exclusivity.
