Is the fuel consumption and the cost of maintenance for the V12 Vantage justified?

While the V12 Vantage is renowned for its swift performance, it doesn’t come cheaply at both the pump and the garage. Predictably, fuel economy is low, especially in the single digits in the city, due to its large displacement engine. Because of this, maintenance can also be quite expensive, with specialized parts and labor quickly adding up. As a result, the debate rages as to whether the V12 Vantage is a practical choice for everyday use or better as a weekend toy. Others say that the additional expenses are the price you have to pay for the privilege of owning and driving such a car, as it’s a special piece of automotive engineering. Some say the V8 models give you a similar experience at a lower running cost. The conversation then often moves on to compare to other high performance cars in the same price bracket and wonder if the V12 Vantage represents good value for money when all costs are taken into consideration. The depreciation aspect of the V12 Vantage also needs to be considered: does its potential future collectability compensate for its high running costs?

Absolutely justified. Yet you don’t buy a V12 Vantage to save money on gas. The experience is the point and that V12 has an experience like no other. When you are dealing with a car of this caliber, the maintenance costs are just part of the package.
