Is the Dominar 250 built to last?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
The Dominar 250 has been positioned as a premium offering in its segment by Bajaj, but questions continue to remain on the bike’s long term durability and overall build quate. Some complain about electricals or finish quality or some parts of the bike while other are saying it's tough. A bike will last longer if the manufacturing consistency is good, the maintenance is proper and the riding conditions aren’t too hard. The other question, of course, is how well the Dominar 250 will hold up to its competitors over high mileage. Do you notice any common issues that seem to pop up? What is Bajaj's after sales service and how easy to source parts factor into the ownership experience? Is the Dominar 250 a reliable, well built machine that delivers on its promise, or is there something to worry about?

It's been a mixed bag for me. The engine and chassis have been bulletproof but the electricals have been a problem and there are a few rust spots starting to appear. These have been hit or miss for Bajaj’s service in resolving.

The Dominar’s build quality felt a bit lacking, coming from bikes from Japanese bikes. 2 years of ownership have impressed me with how it’s held up to daily use though.

Reliability was OK, but little things keep popping up. Stuff like loose bolts, a finicky fuel gauge. Not anything major, but it’s annoying for a 'premium' bike.

It's been surprisingly robust. I dropped mine a couple times off road and it held up great. While the paint could be better (it chips easy), it still looks pretty good.

For the price, it's pretty good. Some switchgear is cheap feeling but the core components are solid. It treats you well, just keep an eye on the chain tension.

It's hit or miss. My friend's Dominar has been trouble free but mine's been having electrical gremlins from day one. Bajaj's QC seems inconsistent.

I have 30,000 km on mine and no major issues. It's been just regular maintenance, and it's been solid. Other than that, the build quality seems a step up from other Bajaj bikes I've owned.
