It’s one of those things that some riders swear by in order to give the bike a more vintage look, and others hate the upkeep. If there’s one thing, the chrome finish is especially prone to water spots, fingerprints, and general weather damage and presents a continual need to keep it polished and protected for the luster to remain. Also, the chrome parts might tend toward corrosion in some climates. The flip side of this coin is, a well maintained chrome bike will hold its value better and stand out in a crowd of painted motorcycles. The debate is more around whether the time, effort and expense of keeping the chrome in tip top shape, is worth the aesthetic appeal and potential resale value.

Totally worth it! What makes the Classic 500 classic is the chrome finish. Yes, it’s a little more work, but that’s the fun of having a Royal Enfield.
