Is the Classic 350 S Redditch Edition good for long rides?
It’s no secret that motorcycle enthusiasts love to cover long distances and when it comes to touring or weekend getaways, the comfort level, with regards to your ride, does become an important factor. This classic design, together with upright riding position, is supposed to give you a comfortable riding experience, the Redditch Edition is your friendly neighborhood Royal Enfield Classic 350 S. But riders' opinions about how comfortable it is long distance vary widely. There are some who praise its plush seat and relaxed ergonomics, with others complaining of vibrations and fatigue when your ride is a little longer. As each area is improved, other areas are affected, and this improvement benefits factors like suspension setup, seat cushioning, handlebar position and overall bike geometry, all of which determine comfort. Long hauls are surprisingly comfy. And the difference of being upright and having a cushy seat is huge.
The first hour or two are comfortable, but after that the vibrations start to get to you. Not suited for really long trips.
With a few mods, like a better seat and handlebar risers, it can be a great long distance bike. It's okay but not amazing stock.
On mine I've done 500km days without issue. The secret is to take breaks and to stay hydrated.
