Is the Ciaz’s soft suspension setup a blessing or a curse?
The wing offered with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, which offers a comfortable ride quality and a large part of credit to its soft suspension setup. In this configuration, this car glides smoothly over rough patches and potholes and passenger gets comfortable, particularly when Indian roads are considered. This is a point many owners praise, well for city driving as well as on long highway journeys. However, the same soft suspension has been criticized by both enthusiasts and reviewers for causing body roll during taking corners, and a less involving driving experience at higher speeds. The result has been rounds of arguments about introducing a stiffer suspension variant that would transform the Ciaz into an exciting sports sedan or embrace the comfort side of the equation. It often comes down to a discussion of how much you can get ride comfort and handling dynamics in a car at this price point.
The suspension is soft and perfect for Indian roads. It takes in all the bumps and is so comfortable on long drives. I wouldn't change it for the world.
I think it's a bit too soft. It’s comfy, sure, but it doesn’t give you much confidence when you’re driving fast or taking corners. I think a slightly stiffer setup would be better.
That's a boon for most Ciaz buyers. After all, who is buying this car most likely isn't looking for sporty handling, but for comfort. The soft suspension makes for great every day and family trips.
I only wish Maruti had two suspension options to choose from - one soft for comfort, and one stiffer for those who want more engagement. Best of both worlds!
The soft suspension is fine, but I think Maruti can tweak it a bit and get rid of body roll without compromising too much comfort. It’s all about getting the right mix.
