Is the Ciaz still relevant in an SUV dominated market?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
Over the last few years, there has been a noticeable change in the direction of Indian automotive landscape and SUVs have become the preferred choice of many consumers due to the higher ground clearance and commanding road presence on offer. As a result of this trend, sedan sales have been falling in all segments. A spacious and comfortable sedan that it is, the Ciaz has been battling it out for buyers not just with other sedans but with compact SUVs too. Sedans like the Ciaz certainly have their backers that say the better driving dynamics and fuel efficiency, while SUVs are considered more practical on Indian road conditions. But the argument continues and extends to things like interior space, boot capacity and overall value for money. Is Maruti Suzuki’s strong brand presence and the Ciaz’s reputation for reliability enough to keep the Ciaz in the hearts of Indian car buyers or is it time for a major overhaul or even discontinuation?

Being a Ciaz owner myself, it is still very much relevant. It’s so smooth on highways and the backseat space is amazing. While SUVs are in fashion, nothing can beat a well designed sedan for comfort.

If Maruti had given the Ciaz some serious updates, it could still be relevant. So, add some modern tech, improve the safety features and maybe give it a hybrid powertrain. For those who don’t want to get on the SUV band wagon, it could be a great alternative.

Depends on your needs I think. If you don’t need the extra space and you are mostly driving in the city, the Ciaz still is a great option. And running it is more affordable than most SUVs.

No, the Ciaz is old now. SUVs give better visibility, better ground clearance and more practicality. If they are not going to give it a major update, then Maruti should focus on their SUV lineup.

Absolutely! The Ciaz is still super relevant. Not everyone wants to drive around city traffic in a bulky SUV. Comfortable, fuel efficient and great for long highway drives. Plus, you can park in a much smaller space than those big SUVs.
