Is the Bolero's fuel efficiency underrated?

On a cursory glance at the Mahindra Bolero, you might not think of it as one of the fuel efficient cars in Nepal. But there's an ongoing debate about how its real world fuel economy matches up to more modern, sleeker SUVs. This is a question about fuel efficiency, and the weight of the Bolero, its relatively simple mechanicals and how it is actually used. The broader issue of how we measure and perceive fuel efficiency in different types of vehicles is also addressed. Do modern SUVs with their complex engines and heavy bodies actually have a better efficiency in real world conditions than the Bolero's simplicity gives it? This debate also assesses how driving conditions, maintenance, and usage patterns may work to the Bolero's design philosophy's advantage in terms of fuel consumption.

Absolutely underrated! My cousin's fancy new compact SUV doesn't get as good mileage as my uncle's Bolero. It’s a simple engine and a light body, it just sips fuel if you drive it right.
