Is the Bajaj Pulsar NS250 worth the upgrade from the NS200?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
For years now the Pulsar NS200 has been a popular choice as a good balance between performance and affordability. With the NS250 now in the lineup, riders are asking themselves if it makes sense to upgrade to the bigger engine. But the NS250 promises more power and refinement, and it comes at a higher price. Some say the extra displacement doesn't make a big real world difference, while others swear by the extra mid range punch. The question also arises of whether the NS250's chassis and suspension can properly use the extra power. The cost of the incremental gains is being weighed by riders against factors like fuel efficiency, maintenance and resale value.

If you are a track day enthusiast the NS250 is definitely worth it. But it’s when you’re really pushing the bike to its limits where the extra power really shines.

Instead, I’d say wait for the next gen NS200. Expect Bajaj to give it a quick update with some NS250 features and you get the best of both worlds.

Refinement alone is worth the NS250. And overall it’s smoother, less vibey at high speeds, and just feels more premium. If you can afford it, then by all means go for it.

I upgraded and kind of regret it. Don't get me wrong, the NS250 is great, but the difference isn't quite as dramatic as I thought it would be. Also, the NS200 has a very large aftermarket that the NS250 does not have.

That depends on your riding style. If you spend a lot of highway miles, the NS250 is a no brainer. For city commuting, the NS200 is more than enough and won’t break the bank.

Honestly, I don't think so. The extra 50cc doesn’t justify the price bump, but the NS200 is already a capable machine. That money would be better spent on upgrades to your NS200.

Absolutely worth it! That said, the NS250 punches a lot harder in the mid range, and that makes a big difference in real world riding. It's not just about how fast you can go, but how quickly you can pass on highways.
