Is the Bajaj Blade 125’s digital instrument cluster overkill for a basic commuter?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
What is unusual for an entry level 125cc commuter bike is the fact that the Blade 125 comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster. It features a tachometer, a gear position indicator, and a host of trip meters. Some riders like the modern touch and extra info, but others say it’s unnecessary complexity for a basic commuter. Some of these features are debated whether they add value or are just increasing the cost and possibly introducing more points of failure. For a no frills commuter some riders prefer the simplicity and reliability of analog gauges, while others are happy to have the tech upgrade.

It's future-proofing. Soon, digital clusters will be standard, Bajaj are just a little bit ahead of the curve.

I’d rather have a fancy cluster or better build quality, I’d rather have ABS.

It's a smart move. It makes the bike feel more modern and more premium.

Makes sense as a way to increase the price tag. Half those features most commuters won’t use.

For new riders learning about their bike’s performance, the extra info is great.

It’s nice to have, but I wonder about its durability. It is expensive to replace digital clusters if they fail.

Total overkill. All I need is a speedo and a fuel gauge. Keep it simple and reliable.

Love it! It’s about time 125cc bikes got some modern tech, which makes for a more engaging ride.
