Is the Bajaj Blade 125 trying too hard to look like a bigger bike?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views5 answers
Its sharp angles and sporty design elements make the Blade 125 a pretty aggressive looking 125cc commuter. It's either overdesigned, trying to punch above its weight class, or it looks great and stands out from other boring commuters depending on who you ask. For this segment, it’s unusual to see tall stance and beefy front forks that give it an almost adventure bike vibe. People debate whether or not this styling approach works on a small displacement bike, or if it just comes off as pretentious. Is the Blade 125’s bold design a plus or is it just trying to compensate for something?

What I like is that they are taking risks with the design. It’s better to be polarizing than forgettable. It's not another cookie-cutter bike, at least.

Trying way too hard. This isn't a supermoto, it's a 125cc commuter. It just makes the tall stance look awkward.

The styling is growing on me. It’s not obnoxious, but stands out. It kinda looks like a mini Ducati Hypermotard.

It's way too much. Seems they bolted some KTM bits onto a commuter and said there you go. Make it simple, and make it functional.

I think it looks awesome! A 125cc that doesn't look like a boring old man bike, finally. Younger riders will be attracted by the sporty design.
