Is the Aprilia RS4 125 a good beginner bike?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
For new riders, the Aprilia RS4 125 is frequently their first motorcycle. It's sleek, sporty and has that Italian flair that does turn heads. However, reliability is a big one for beginners with little experience and/or not a lot of money to pour into repeated repairs. Some love their RS4, some have horror stories of constant breakdowns and expensive fixes. There's no doubt the bike performs and looks good, but does it have the reliability a new rider needs? Now, let's check out what real world RS4 125 owners have to say and if this bike really is a good choice for someone who is just beginning their two wheeled journey.

It's a terrible first bike. You want something you can thrash and learn on without getting worried about expensive repairs. Just save the Aprilia for when you have some experience.

Yeah, mine's been great, but I'm very good with maintenance. If you’re not prepared to get your hands dirty with your bike, perhaps find something else.

It’s not the most reliable, and it’s not what I’d rely on for, you know, out and about on a Saturday night, but it has soul. A Honda is something boring and reliable. If you want excitement, get the Aprilia.

If you have a good dealer close by I'd say go for it. These bikes are all the difference with support.

It's an amazing beginner bike. It's also perfect power for learning and the handling teaches you so much. So just be prepared for some Italian 'quirks'.

I guess it depends on your luck. My friends RS4 has been bullet proof, mine has been a nightmare. It's a coin toss, really.

I wouldn’t recommend it as a first bike, honestly. I can't count how many times mine's been in the shop. It’s great when it works but that’s not often enough.

I’ve had my RS4 125 for about a year now, and it’s been pretty solid. It’s not bad at all, sure it needs a bit more attention than a Japanese bike, but if you stay on top of maintenance it will be just fine.
