Is the Aprilia RS 150 a good bike for long distance touring?
The Aprilia RS 150 is essentially a sporty urban motorcycle, but some Aprilia RS 150 riders want to know how it performs for longer trips and highway cruising. This is a question about how comfortable is the bike, how more efficiently does it use fuel and how reliable is it when going on long rides. One of the biggest discussions around it is its ability to handle different road conditions, how well its windscreen works at protecting you from the wind, and how well it performs when loaded up with luggage. There is also riders debate about the availability of aftermarket touring accessories and the bike’s overall suitability for multi day journeys versus purpose built touring motorcycles.
It's not a touring bike, but I've done a couple of 500km trips. With a bit of modifications such as a better seat and tank bag, it is doable.
Forget it. After a couple hours your back and your wrists will be dead from the aggressive riding position. Stick to short rides.
I toured on mine and it was fine. The trick is to break often and pack light. Highway performance is a blast!
It’s reliable enough, but it’s not comfortable. If you are going to be riding long, I would suggest investing in a good aftermarket seat.
I wouldn't tour it. With a small fuel tank, you often have to stop, and there are no luggage options at all.
It's surprisingly capable! Twisty mountain roads are sheer joy due to the sporty handling. You just need to be prepared for more frequent maintenance stops.
It did alright on a couple weekend trips. If you're into that, the bike gets a lot of attention at pit stops.
