Is the Apollo Gumpert the ultimate sleeper supercar?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Despite the abilities of the Apollo Gumpert, it gets lost in conversations about supercars. The car is not as flashy or well known as Ferraris or Lamborghinis, but it can out run many of them on the track. The question is, is the Apollo Gumpert the ultimate sleeper supercar? A car that doesn’t draw attention but has more than enough power to get away with it? Think about its unorthodox design, racetrack worthy engineering, and the fact that the number of these that were produced was low. Is this combination the perfect underdog of the supercar world, or is it just too niche to be taken seriously as a serious contender?

I would say it is the ultimate track day supercar. Real enthusiasts care about performance first, and it's built for that.

The Apollo is the supercar for the hipster. This is for people that want to be different and don’t give a shit about what the mainstream thinks.

It’s underrated, but not a sleeper. An ugly exotic car is what it still is.

The Apollo is a proper sleeper, but it’s too rare for that. You can’t really surprise people with something that they’ve never seen before.

I'd say it's more of a sleeper for an enthusiast's supercar. It’s for people who worry more about performance than brand recognition.

It's a sleeper more than a track weapon. In most cases, sleepers are more practical, daily drivable cars. That’s too extreme for the Apollo.

A true sleeper looks ordinary, no way. The Apollo is weird enough looking that it gets attention, even if people don't know what it is.

Absolutely! The Apollo Gumpert is a sleeper supercar if ever there was one. Not pretty, but damn fast and can light up most of the 'popular' supercars on the track.
