Is the Aeroride YB2000 worth its premium price?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views10 comments
Aeroride YB2000 is a high end electric scooter in India priced from Rs. 97,100 to Rs. 1.30 Lakh. That puts it in direct competition with some of the best established brands in the electric two wheeler market. The YB2000 claims to have a range of 80-120 km per charge, a top speed of 75 km/h and a 1.87 kWh battery, which has been enough to put off some potential buyers who think that the price tag doesn’t justify what’s on offer compared to the alternatives. There’s also discussion around, build quality, after sales service and long term reliability of a relatively newer brand like Aeroride in the EV space. As the Indian electric scooter market becomes more crowded, consumers are torn between opting for the YB2000 over cheaper competitors or scooters from better known brands.

If you can afford it, then go for it. We need to see more competition and better products in the EV space and it's the way newer innovative brands will support that.

I'm on the fence. They’re impressive specs but I’d like to see how it holds up after a year or two of heavy use before dropping that kind of cash.

Features and build quality justify the premium. It is not intended to be a budget option.

It is overpriced for what it is. If you’re looking for similar specs, you can buy from established players like Ola or Ather for a lesser price.

I would say wait for more real world reviews. In Indian traffic conditions the claimed range doesn’t match actual performance.

It’s expensive, but you have to consider the long term savings on fuel and maintenance. In the long run, it could actually work out cheaper than a petrol scooter.

If you appreciate the unique styling, I think it’s worth it. It absolutely stands out from the crowd of cookie cutter electric scooters.

It's a mixed bag. On paper, the specs look great, but I’d be concerned with long term reliability and parts availability from a smaller brand.

No way. For that price, you could have a TVS iQube or Ather 450X with a better brand reputation and service network. The only reason to pay a premium for Aeroride is that it is still too new.

Absolutely worth it! They build quality and performance are on par with scooters that cost hundreds, if not thousands, more. The premium features are available at a relatively reasonable price.
