Is the 8C Competizione a good investment?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views10 comments
The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione has been long touted as a potential collector’s item, with the car produced in such limited numbers of just 500 units. When it came out its hefty price tag was greeted with skepticism, but its exclusivity and gorgeous design hinted at a rising value later on. It is now, years after its production ended, that the question of its investment potential is more relevant than ever. Factors like its rarity, its significance in Alfa Romeo's history, and its enduring aesthetic appeal all play into its value. The classic car market can be a tricky business, however, and not all limited edition supercars appreciate as expected. But then there's the question of whether it's worth treating such a car as an investment at all, rather than as a car to own and drive. We’ll take a look at different angles on whether the 8C Competizione is a good financial decision or not, and where its true value lies.

It's a terrible investment. Once you own it, you’ll never want to sell it!

Compared to other things in the same price range, I'd say that there are better investments. But none that sound as good!

I think it's peaked. If you had wanted to invest, that time was 10 years ago. Now? Just enjoy it.

For sure, it’s a good investment in happiness. It is just a bonus.

Buying one and driving the wheels off it is the best investment. You don't have to garage cars like this, you know, life's too short.

It's probably a safer bet than most. It's rare, it looks great, and it's Alfa Romeo. Ticks all the boxes.

Now it's already appreciated quite a bit. The real question is how much higher it can go.

If you have to ask if it’s a good investment, you’re not getting it. Buy it because you love it, not as a means to save money.

I'd be wary. But not all limited edition cars make for great investments. Look at the Lexus LFA.

Any car that rare is going to appreciate. Plus, it's gorgeous. Can't go wrong.
