Is Tata’s Curvv EV coupe design practical for Indian families?
Tata Curvv EV has made a lot of design talk with it's coupe inspired looks. Sure, it looks stylish, minus the debates over whether it’s practical for any typical Indian family. Others, however, contend that the sloping roofline could steal some rear headroom and cargo space — important attributes for the long distance and regular road trips that families make. Others add, however, that such a design may not be ideal in Indian roads and parking spaces. But support for the aerodynamic shape being more efficient and yielding an improved range can be found on the other side. Secondly, a question arises whether Indian consumers are ready to accept such a daring design in the EV segment, which is still nascent in the country. What do you think? Is the Curvv’s design one step towards a better approach – or does it emphasize style, at the expense of substance?
But i think it’s a refreshing change! It’s not like you need a boxy SUV in the urban jungle, but it certainly is not as practical as one. We definitely deserve some stylish EVs in India that don't look like glorified golf carts.
Practical? Nah, mate. Have you seen how Indian families overpack for the weekend trip! The only problem is that sloping roof is going to be a nightmare for luggage space. Also, good luck trying to fit everyone into the extended family for those festival visits!
It is a compromise, but one I am, and shall be, ready to make. The design is sure to turn heads, and if it extends range, that's a big win. Perhaps not suitable for everyone, but great for small families or couples.
That rear visibility where I'm worried. However, cool as those tiny rear windows look, they’ll be an inconvenience in chaotic Indian traffic. You should choose safety over style.
First off, who is the person buying this car that will actually be doing family road trips? Come on, let’s be real, most people aren’t. It's plenty practical for that purpose. But maybe it’s also more parking friendly, especially in tight spaces, than bigger SUVs.
I respect Tata by that. And given India's young and growing middle class, more design conscious than ever, this could be a hit with younger buyers looking for something different. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but that doesn’t mean it has to be.
It's all practicality depending on your lifestyle. It's good for a young professional, or a couple without kids. It might be a stretch for a joint family or someone who has to carry a lot of stuff to haul regularly. It’s about knowing what you need.
