Is a 1 star NCAP rating for the Bolero Neo a deal breaker for family buyers?
Mahindra Bolero Neo with 1 star rating in Global NCAP crash tests is a worrying thing when it is being thought as a family car. Rugged vehicle with a bad image relative to this low rating. It's a debate about whether potential buyers will be able to look past the safety concern and accept the Neo's other attributes, such as durability and off road capability. Those who insist that modern safety standards are non negotiable, clash with those who argue that real world durability is more important than crash test ratings. This question tells us about the balance between an old traditional ruggedness and a modern safety expectation and if Mahindra should do more to the Neo regarding crash performance or stick to the core of what they are about – simple, tough vehicles.
It's definitely concerning. The Neo is rugged, but when speaking about family transport, safety comes first.
