If the Duke 490 project is truly canceled, what is KTM doing now?
Rumors of the Duke 490 project being canceled have left plenty of KTM fans and motorcycle fans wondering what the Austrian manufacturer’s next move should be. If KTM has a reputation for being an innovative company in the motorcycle business, they may want to push some boundaries by not just maintaining their lineup. They could concentrate on electrification, further development of their existing models, or perhaps look at the possibility of entirely new segments of the market. They also have to figure out how they will bridge the gap between the 390 and 790 models, which the 490 was meant to do. This is a troublesome but also an interesting situation for KTM to reorient their strategy and to create new trends in the motorcycle world.
They should be working to make an electric Duke. That’s the future, anyway.
