How will the Hunter 450 price relative to competitors?

The Hunter 450's positioning will be interesting to watch in the Indian motorcycle market, which is always a pricing sensitive market. The 450 will likely be a premium over its 350 sibling, but Royal Enfield has a reputation for good value. The question then arises how will it fare against the established players in the 400 – 500cc segment, such as the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G310R or even RE’s own Himalayan. Others believe RE will price the 450 aggressively to undercut these competitors and take market share, while others think they will price it as a more premium offering at a higher price point. We also discuss what could be included in RE in terms of features and components that would justify the price and how that would affect the overall value proposition.

Generally, RE prices competitively. It's going to undercut the KTM 390 Duke by a decent margin, I bet 2.3–2.4 lakh ex showroom.

They could really shake up the market by pricing it close to the 350, they might surprise us. Now imagine a 450cc RE for under 2 lakh!

It’s going to be priced similarly to the Himalayan. RE won’t want to eat into their own sales.

They will price it premium I think, around 2.6 to 2.7 lakh. People will pay for the bigger engine and the RE badge and the Hunter brand is strong.

The features will determine pricing. It may even cost 3 lakh, if they load it up with tech like ride modes and a fancy dash.
