How snowy is the handling of Nissan Sylphy?
When buying a car, many people take seriously the questions about how their car would perform during winter driving, particularly if they live in the area where snow is frequent. As a front wheel drive compact sedan, the Nissan Sylphy often makes an appearance in discussions about how well it performs in snow or ice. There are a lot of differing opinions, some owners will praise the stability, others will be concerned about how it will handle traction on slippery situations. The discussion involves how much the car's weight is distributed, what kind of tires are on the car, how does electronic stability control systems contribute, and so on. Some say that the Sylphy is too light for its own good and will slide all over the place in the snow, while others say that with good winter tires it will perform fine, even in the white stuff. This topic is one that tends to get people comparing and debating whether or not all wheel drive alternatives are needed for winter driving and if it compares with other compact sedans.

I think it handles better than people give it credit for. The trick is smooth inputs and not overdriving the conditions.

It isn't a Subaru, but it isn't bad. Don't expect miracles, however, in blizzard conditions.

It has a bit low ground clearance for deep snow. Other cars might not get stuck, but you might.

I've run mine through three Canadian winters without problem. Just be smart and drive accordingly to conditions.

If you don’t live somewhere with harsh winters, it’s okay for light snow, but if you do, you might want something with AWD.

It wouldn't be something I'd trust in heavy snow. The traction control isn’t great and it’s too light.

My Sylphy handles snow just fine with good winter tires. The car is not as important as the rubber.
