How practical is the BE 6e's unique styling?

Obviously, the Mahindra BE 6e's striking design with a coupe like roofline and angular features makes a statement. But this bold styling approach could have consequences for the car in the real world. A potential downside of that sloping roof may be decreased rear head room and cargo space — an area where SUV buyers tend to focus. The angle of the surface also creates much sharper angles as well as much more complex surfacing, all of which might have an impact on visibility (for not only the person in the back seat, but also parking, as a case in point). There’s also the unique body shape that could affect aerodynamics, which in turn affects range and efficiency – both of which are key for an electric vehicle. And how easy will it be to keep clean and maintain, with so many creases and angles? Of course, distinctive styling can be a huge selling point, especially for a new entrant in the EV market, but it’s worth considering how these design choices balance with practical considerations. Does the form of the BE 6e follow function or has style won out over usability?

I really want it, but it's the rear visibility I'm worried about. Parking could be a nightmare with those tiny windows and thick pillars.

I wouldn't mind that sloping roof, but I would bet that tall people will hate sitting in the back. Style is less important than practicality for a family SUV.

For the detailing enthusiast, all those angles and creases are going to be a real pain to keep clean. It'll look good when it's freshly washed, but man.

The unique design I think could actually help with aerodynamics, which might help with range. All the efficiency that EVs can get, they need.

Cargo space might be limited by the styling, but how much do you really need? It's probably enough for daily use for most people.

I'm more worried about how it will deal with speed bumps and potholes with that low front end. Indian roads can be brutal.

It might be easier to find in a parking lot because of the distinctive look. No more of that losing your car in a sea of identical SUVs!
