How much can the Jaunty L be customized to personal preferences?
As more and more riders of e scooters want to make their rides more personal, many of them want to modify their scooters to improve performance or style. While the Jaunty L comes standard, there is a growing interest in what you can do with it. Furthermore, some users have been trying some aftermarket parts and accessories while some others have argued that attempting to modify the scooter could negatively impact its reliability or safety. But the software tweaks debate rages on as people discuss if the scooter's firmware can be changed to feature things such as speed limits or power delivery. The Jaunty L's customization potential may be a big deal for people who like to tinker. Now let’s have a look at just how flexible this e scooter is when it comes to personalization and upgrades.
Out of the box, it’s pretty limited, but there’s a growing aftermarket scene. I've had no trouble adding custom grips and a better headlight.
Forget about serious mods. The controller is locked down tight and there’s very little room for mechanical upgrades. What you see is what you get.
I’ve also seen some cool custom paint jobs and decals on these. A easy way to make it stand out without having to mess with the internals.
You risk voiding the warranty, but there's potential. I have upgraded the tires and put on a suspension kit. Rides like a dream now!
The custom ROM is actually being worked on by a guy on the forums, but the stock firmware is actually decent. That might open some interesting possibilities.
It's a shame it's not more mod friendly. Changing the deck grip tape is even harder than it should be. If you want to customize, stick to accessories.
If you’re willing to get creative, it’s a great platform for DIY upgrades. I’ve also beefed up the controller and added a custom battery pack. It's a rocket now!
