How long can the Tata Harrier be relied upon in the longer run than its competitors?

For many car buyers, in fact, reliability is one of the most crucial factors as any car which you expect to last several years should be reliable. As a new model in the market, the Tata Harrier does not have the long term reliability data that some of its better established competitors do. The lack of historical data is what leads to speculation and debate amongst potential buyers and automotive enthusiasts. Early adopters have boasted positive experiences of the company, but others argue that Tata has made leaps in quality control and engineering. But others are more skeptical, pointing to the Indian manufacturers’ past reputation issues, and anecdotal evidence of recurring problems in the past. The main discussion is on comparisons with Japanese and Korean brands that are known for their reliability, as well as European competitors who provide the same features. The Harrier's long term reliability, and ownership experience are also factors that depend on build quality, frequency of repairs, availability of spare parts and efficiency of after sales service.

My Harrier has been pretty reliable and I have had it for 3 years now. Tata, had had a few minor electricals issues early on, but sorted them out under warranty. All in all, it's a solidly built feeling thing which I know will hold up.
