How is the CB150R Streetster for wet conditions?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Riding in the rain can be difficult, so many riders wonder how the CB150R Streetster fares when it gets wet. Because the bike’s tires are narrow and the bike relatively light, the bike’s stability in wet conditions is questionable. It's praised by some riders for its ABS system for added safety, and others worry about stock tires' grip. There's also some debate about how watertight the bike's electronics are. For those who live in places that get a lot of rain, it’s important to know how the CB150R rides in the wet. So let’s take a dive into real world experiences and opinions on how this Honda performs when the skies open up.

I put on some frame sliders and they've given me more wet weather confidence. I am less nervous about a minor slide knowing I have that extra protection.

It's all about rider skill. I’ve seen bigger bikes crash in the rain, and I’ve seen people ride their 125cc bikes smoothly in the rain. If you know what you are doing, the CB150R is capable enough.

After a year of all weather riding no issues with water getting into the electronics. Everything was sealed up nicely by Honda. If you're riding in the wet a lot, just be sure to lube your chain more often.

So, in the wet I actually prefer the CB150R over my old 250cc bike. It also seems that the narrower tires cut through standing water better. Just make sure you don’t open the throttle too much when coming out of corners.

It's okay, but not great. It's a bit twitchy in wet weather on strong crosswinds due to its light weight. On rainy days I've learned to just take it easy and leave more following distance.

In the wet, the stock tires are garbage. I nearly lowsided on a rainy day. I switched to Michelin Road 5s and it's a completely different bike now. If you ride in the rain often, don't cheap out on tires.

Through some pretty heavy downpours I've ridden mine and it's been surprisingly stable. On wet roads, the ABS is a lifesaver. But just make sure you’re smooth with your inputs and you will be fine.
