How is long distance touring on a Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake compared to other bikes of its class?

The Bajaj Discover 125 is essentially a commuter bike but some riders have taken it for long journeys. Debate still remains as to how well it performs on longer trips versus other 125cc motorcycles. Things like comfort, highway fuel efficiency, luggage capacity, and general reliability for long lonesome rides were at play. Riders that like its comfortable seat and decent fuel tank range are praising it, while those who insist it lacks the power and features of a true touring bike, are against it. Another aspect to discuss is the bike’s suspension and its aptness to different road situations for long distances. Is the Discover 125 Disc an option for budget conscious riders looking to do some light touring, or are there better options in the same price range?

On my Discover 125, I've done a 500km trip and it was surprisingly comfortable. One long ride and the seat is plush and the upright riding position is a help.

For short tours it’s decent, but anything over 200km gets tiring. On highways, you really feel the lack of wind protection.

It is a great tourer for the price. All you need to do is add a small windscreen and some soft luggage and you’re good to go. I have done weekend trips with no issues.

As for touring, I’d say look elsewhere. At highway speed the engine feels strained, and the vibrations become intolerable after a few hours.

It's all about expectations. The Discover can do tours if you’re okay with a relaxed pace and frequent breaks. But it's no dedicated tourer.

I have toured on mine, and it's fine. Mountain roads are a godsend for the disc brake. You won't be able to keep up with bigger bikes, though.

If touring is a priority, honestly, I’d save up for something like a Pulsar 150. On long rides the extra power makes a big difference.
